Paracetamol can be given four hourly in a child if the temperature is ≥ 100°F. Dose calculation is very simple. Drug doses depend on the body weight in case of children. Dose of paracetamol is 15 mg(milligram) for each kg. Suppose, your child is 10 kg. So he needs 15 × 10 = 150 mg(milligram) every four hourly if temperature is ≥ 100°F. Paracetamol Syrup contains 120 mg( Napa, Ace syrup etc) in 5 ml and Paracetamol Drop contains 80 mg(Napa, Ace drop etc) in 1 ml. NB. This formulation is for Bangladeshi brands only. If you choose syrup, then 150 mg(required dose of your child) is equal to 6.25 ml. Remember, one tea spoon full is 5 ml and one ml is 15 drops.
